Sebastian Buczyk

SEBASTIAN BUCZYK is a NYC based filmmaker. He grew up on the Lower East Side, Manhattan. He studied directing and screenwriting at the New School and completed Meisner Acting Program at the Ward Studio in Chelsea. Later, he continued studying acting with Alice Spivak.

He wrote and directed 6 short films: Girl, Welcome, Chase, He Is The Ocean, 2nd Ave, and Homework. ‘He Is The Ocean’ won the Emerging Filmmaker Award and ‘Homework’ won the Cinematography Award at the Dorothy Hirshon Film Festival. He wrote a short film ‘Bleed’ that was in the competition at SIFF (Seattle).

His most recent work includes cinematography for Central Park Dark, a feature film starring Tom Sizemore and a music video for Jay Kila.

On the commercial side, he shot a short fashion film for Geova, a New York City based designer, and UMA by Raquel Davidowicz, an important Brazilian designer.

On the theater side, he wrote and directed ‘Mother, Mother’ and ‘Who is Afraid of Lady Macbeth,’ theatre plays for Urban Artist Collective 2018 and 2020 Fall New Play Series. He also directed a play, ‘Shaman,’ for La Tea Theater Festival on the Lower East Side. As an actor, he performed the role of Zenon in Jesse Eisenberg’s play ‘The Revisionist.’

Recently, he attended Harvard University where he studied Film Theory and Playwriting.
